Weber Human Services

237 26th St., Ogden, UT, 84401
Overview

Weber Human Services was initially founded to provide treatment to patients facing a dark time in their lives, such as those with depression or other mental health conditions, as well as those with substance abuse problems. The programs offered at the center initially only catered to patients who were located in Weber County, hence the name of the company, but now serve a more extensive area, including the Morgan County. Not everyone who comes to the facility for help will be provided access to treatment, however, as they are selective about who they treat and tend to prioritize treatment for those of the community who are deemed more vulnerable. These mostly include adults with more serious problems, such as those using IV drugs, women who are pregnant, senior citizens, and adolescent patients. Some of the treatment programs offered by Weber Human Services can also be provided to children, such as mental health solutions.

Types Of Treatment Provided

Weber Human Services acts as a single administration for a wide range of treatment services that can assist in helping patients overcome various conditions and disorders. The specific services that a patient will be provided with, depending on their conditions. Some patients may also require multiple programs, such as when they have an addiction and experience signs associated with mental disorders. The treatment services currently offered to patients who come to Weber Human Services include:Crisis and emergency services | Adult and youth mental health services | Adult and youth substance use services | Aging services | Wellness programs

Methods of Addiction Treatment

Therapy is the primary treatment method utilized to assist patients in their journey to recovering from mental disorders and addictions. Patients will be appointed to a therapist that specializes in the conditions that they are suffering from. The patient will then undergo one-on-one sessions with the appointed therapist in order to help them address their problems. In addition to these sessions, patients may also be provided with access to group counseling sessions.

Amenities

No special amenities are provided to the patients who are in need of the services that Weber Human Services are able to offer them. The company focuses on outpatient programs, which means there are no rooms or accommodation provided to the patient, no entertainment, meals, or any other factors that would make the stay at the facility more convenient – patients are required to stay at their own homes and only to visit the center at specified times to undergo therapy.

Payment Type Accepted

Weber Human Services offer their treatment options free-of-charge to some patients, but only to those who qualify for special financial assistance. Other patients will be billed based on a sliding scale system. With this system, the patient’s unique circumstances are taken into account. Medicare and some other insurance programs are also accepted at the facility.

Staff

While Weber Human Services does seem like a professional facility that truly cares about every patient that comes to them for help with the addictions or disorders that they might be facing in their own lives, we did find that the facility lacks in one particular area – they fail to provide an overview of their staff members on the official website that represents the company. This can be an unfortunate factor for a large number of patients that might be considering treatment at Weber Human Services. Even though no details of staff members are shared, there is one page on the company’s official website that provides a few board of director members that are involved in the company. Patients who would like to know more about the medical staff and treatment team, however, will need to contact the facility directly for more details.Robert Hunter – Council on Aging, Chair of Board | Daryl Ballantyne – Morgan County Council, Vice Chair of Board | James Ebert – Weber County Commissioner | Austin Turner – Morgan County Council | Kerry Gibson – Weber County Commissioner | Jim Harvey – Weber County Commissioner | Julie Southwick – WHS Advisory Board Member | Elizabeth Later – WHS Advisory Board Member

Licence(s)

Weber Human Services have not provided information in terms of accreditations that the company has been provided in the past. Thus, we are not sure if any bodies within the United States have reviewed the services that patients are offered when they undergo treatment at this company. We did note that the company was the result of a collaboration of governmental agencies, which most likely means that they have been licensed with appropriate state departments. Patients can verify the facility’s credentials, licenses, and their accreditations by giving them a call or visiting the center.

Southern Tier New Horizons

10 Mitchell Ave, Binghamton, NY, 13903
Overview

Southern Tier New Horizons is a facility that solely focuses on the treatment of addictions, along with the co-occurring behavioral issues and mental health disorders that patients suffer from when they first come to the facility for treatment. The facility is part of the United Health Services and also forms part of the Binghamton General Hospital. Different types of programs have been developed by the licensed staff members employed at Southern Tier New Horizons to ensure patients can be helped regardless of how severe their addictions may be. One thing that patients should note about this facility is that they will not be provided access to a resort or a “house” while they are being treated, as the entire facility is designed with a clinical setting in mind. With this in mind, patients will know that they are in a hospital during treatment.

Types Of Treatment Provided

Southern Tier New Horizons is able to assist patients with their addictions and any co-occurring disorders through a range of treatment options that have been developed by the professional staff members who are involved in the addiction treatment system. While no detox services are available at the facility directly, patients may undergo detox at the main hospital and will then be transferred to Southern Tier New Horizons after they have undergone appropriate detoxification. Treatment options currently available at this facility include:Intensive outpatient treatment services | Specialized treatment services for women | Specialized treatment services for senior citizens | Dual-diagnosis program | Adolescent programs | Continuing care programs | Residential treatment services

Methods of Addiction Treatment

Patients will need to attend both individual sessions with a therapist and group counseling sessions with a licensed counselor for several hours on a daily basis. The family programs that are offered at Southern Tier New Horizons offers patients access to additional therapeutic solutions that can assist in restoring bonds that have been broken within their family.

Amenities

There are no exceptional amenities that are worth mentioning in terms of the facility that patients are provided with accommodation at while they are treated in a residential program at Southern Tier New Horizons. The only particular amenities that we noted is the fact that the facility does have supported for patients who require communication through American Sign Language. Those individuals who have impaired hearing abilities are also welcomed at the facility to undergo treatment for their mental health concerns and addictions.

Payment Type Accepted

Southern Tier New Horizons does accept the majority of insurance programs that patients might be insured through – this includes federally-funded programs. The patient first needs to ensure that they get the benefits of their insurance policy verified. This can be done by providing the appropriate staff members at Southern Tier New Horizons with their insurance details – once verified, the patient will be able to undergo treatment with no payment from their side, or, in some cases, with a small co-payment. Patients who do not have access to an insurance policy will need to understand that they are responsible for the payment of the services that Southern Tier New Horizons will offer them. Should the patient be unable to afford an upfront payment, they will need to consult with a financial counselor to set up appropriate arrangements for their bill.

Staff

While the New Horizons division of the Southern Tier recovery organization does offer useful information on the page that represents this particular program, we did find that it can be difficult for patients to determine who the therapists and other staff members are that will be taking care of them if they decide that they would like to be treated at this particular facility. The page is part of the official United Health Services website and does not provide a specific list of staff members who are involved at the Southern Tier New Horizons facility. Instead, patients are given the ability to search for specific providers – which means the patient will first need to know the name of a particular medical service provider who would be offering them treatment services before they are able to gain more details of the specific physician or psychiatrist. Patients who would like to know the names of the service providers who are part of the treatment programs at Southern Tier New Horizons should give their office a call for more details. The administrative staff will be able to provide the patient with names that they might be able to search for on the UHS website.

Licence(s)

The United Health Service network of facilities and treatment centers have been officially accredited for the healthcare programs that they offer patients by the Joint Commission. There are no details of additional accreditations that the Southern Tier New Horizons facility holds in particular. Since the facility is part of the United Health Services program, there is little doubt that the facility has been appropriately licensed by state-based departments in order to ensure they can offer patients access to quality services that will promote sobriety.
