Virgin Islands Codeine Addiction

codeine addiction rehab treatment #in-citycounty-state#

Codeine is like morphine in its chemical structure, but because it has only a fraction of morphine’s potency, it is considered a weaker version of an opioid painkiller. It can be used in treating mild to moderately sever pain and can also be procured without a prescription in some countries. To increase its effectiveness, codeine is sometimes mixed with aspirin or acetaminophen. A few cough suppressants also contain codeine.

Withdrawal – A clear cut sign of addiction and dependence on a drug is withdrawal. If you are unable to get codeine and you experience withdrawal symptoms, it means you are addicted to codeine.

Other signs of codeine addiction are as follows:

  • Loss of appetite
  • Weight loss
  • Nausea and Vomiting
  • Loss of interests in activities that were enjoyed previously
  • Cold sweat
  • Clammy hands and feet
  • Problems in physical coordination
  • Mood Swings
  • Confusion and cloudy thinking
  • Changes in sleeping patterns

It is crucial to know the signs and symptoms of codeine addiction in order for you to get the best treatment for the codeine user.

Using Codeine compulsively – If you are dependent on codeine, you may want to use it even when you have no medical reason to do so. You may go out of your way to procure a prescription, like visiting different doctors or going to different pharmacies to get the drug.

How an individual gets addicted to codeine will vary from person to person. However, there are a few underline physiological effects that all addicts will experience. These are as follows:

Tolerance – Once the body gets used to codeine on a regular basis, it develops a tolerance, meaning more codeine will be required to get the same effects. Ultimately, it will lead people to take higher doses of codeine to get over the tolerance.

Fixation over getting more codeine – If you have a problem with codeine, you may be preoccupied with getting as much of the drug as you possibly can. You may even show signs of frustration and anger when you are unable to get the drug, even when you don’t have any medical need for it.

The regular inpatient treatment program at Our Father’s House lasts around 90 days, although, the patients can continue staying for longer than 90 days, depending on their medical condition. Detoxification is not available on-site, so upon their arrival, patients are required to complete their detoxification in another place. All of the patients are required to have successfully finished detoxification, and pass an interview conducted in the facility in order for their treatment at the Our Father’s House to be granted.

The Center For Alcohol & Drug Services

12160 Utah Ave, Davenport, IA, 52804
Overview

The Center for Alcohol & Drug Services is a non-profit organization that specializes in the treatment of addictions among both adult patients and adolescent patients. The company also provide professional services that can assist in the prevention of addictions, as well as providing patients with assessments in order to help them understand their own conditions better. Over the years, the company has relied on donations from a number of sources to expand – and they now own and operate facilities in multiple locations, including the state of Illinois and in Iowa.

Types Of Treatment Provided

A large number of treatment options are offered to patients who come to the Center for Alcohol & Drug Services. The specific treatment programs and options that will be provided to a particular patient depends on how old they are, whether or not they are already suffering from an addiction, and if so, how severe this condition is. The treatment options available at the Center for Alcohol & Drug Services are essentially divided into the following categories:Prevention | Assessment | Treatment

Methods of Addiction Treatment

At the Center for Alcohol & Drug Services, all patients are provided access to both individual counseling sessions with a therapist who will be appointed to them, as well as multiple group therapy sessions. Counseling and therapeutic options play essential roles in all of the treatment programs that this organization offers its patients.

Amenities

No exceptional amenities are offered to patients who need to reside at one of the facilities where inpatient treatment programs are offered. Patients should take into account that the facility utilized a sliding scale to charge the patient a minimal fee for treatment, while the rest of their income comes from donations by third-party companies and individuals. For this reason, the facility rather focuses on offering patients in residential care the services they need to successfully overcome their addictions, instead of focusing too much on making the patient’s experience at the center more luxurious. Rooms in the facilities are relatively spacious, however. There is also a basic gym facility located at the inpatient division of the Center for Alcohol & Drug Services in Country Oaks.

Payment Type Accepted

The specific amount that a patient is billed for undergoing any of the treatment programs offered at the Center for Alcohol & Drug Services depends on a number of factors. The factors that help the facility determine an appropriate amount to charge the patient include the patient’s condition, how severe their addictions are, and what specific program they require. It should be noted that a sliding-scale system is used, which means the patient’s unique circumstances and the current financial situation is taken into account.

Staff

Even though it does seem like the Center for Alcohol & Drug Services share a lot of useful information on their website to ensure patients in need of their services are able to obtain the data they require to feel more confident and comfortable in the process of contacting the facility for help, we did notice that no relevant information about the facility’s staff members have been shared. Since some patients want to know about the qualifications held by staff members who specialize in the treatment of addictions at a facility like the Center for Alcohol & Drug Services, we recommend these patients get in touch with the facility before deciding if this particular company is right for them. The administrative staff at the organization should be able to help the interested patient obtain details about the psychiatrists, nurses, and the medical staff members who provide services to patients at the facility.

Licence(s)

No information is shared by the Center for Alcohol & Drug Services in regards t any accreditations that national bodies have awarded the center in the past. The company does, however, note that they have been licensed by appropriate departments in both states that they offer their services in for the specific treatment services and programs they have developed for patients who come to them for assistance in overcoming their addictions. In Illinois, the organization has been licensed by the Division of Alcohol and Substance Abuse at the Department of Human Services. In Iowa, the organization has been licensed by the Department of Public Health.
