Types Of Treatment Provided

New Directions provides both residential and outpatient treatment programs. Their patients are usually high school students so they made a lot of effort to develop a unique program that would help them recover and learn at the same time. To culture a learning environment each patient gets a laptop they can use to study. Length of the residential program is about 60 days, but some patients complete their treatment in 45 days. It all comes to down the client, how much they work on recovery and other factors of course. Residential treatment is also gender-specific, i.e. girls and boys are separated during counseling and other parts of the program as well. In addition to residential treatment, New Directions provides non-intensive outpatient program and intensive outpatient program. Outpatient programs are suitable for patients whose addiction, mental health, emotional, or behavioral problems are not severe enough to require residential treatment. These programs are also practical for adolescents who are showing signs of addiction and the above-mentioned problems, but also for patients who have completed residential treatment and need additional support for a more stable recovery.

Therapy is the vital segment of every strong treatment program, particularly when adolescents are involved. The goal of therapy is to help patients resolve their emotional and mental health problems, but also to enable them to cope with different situations in a healthy manner.
