Arizona Cocaine Addiction Rehabilitation

Recent surveys have found that almost 14 percent of the patients who seek drug related recovery programs are cocaine addicts. Approximately 1.7 million Americans are currently suffering from a cocaine addiction problem. Addiction impacts both the lives of the users as well as everyone involved. Many cases involving family disputes, divorces, and children abandonment can be linked to a cocaine addiction.

According to a survey conducted by the White House in 2008 called the National Survey on Drug Use and Health came up with the following findings:

  • More than 35 million Americans over 12 years of age have admitted using cocaine at least one.
  • In last year’s study, almost 5.3 million and 1.9 million Americans admitted using cocaine in the last year and the last month respectively.
  • Around 722,000 people over 12 years of age tried cocaine for the first time in the last one year. This accounts for almost 2000 new users every day. This number is lower than the figure reported for 2007. Overall, there has been a gradual decline in cocaine use.

Long-term cocaine use and the associated physical effects: Since cocaine works to suppress the appetite, it can lead to rapid weight loss that can be detrimental to one’s body. Some of the other physical effects of long-term cocaine use are as follows:

  • Fever
  • Pain in the chest
  • Convulsions
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Increased chances of heart attacks
  • Respiratory failure
  • Blurred vision
  • Impaired cognition and judgement

Financial Problems – Cocaine addiction can quickly spiral out of control and ruin your financial health. If a friend or family member is borrowing money on a constant basis, or stealing, it might be indicative of a drug problem.

Once the sober living program is completed successfully, the patients are able to join their families and return to their former lives with skill sets that can ward off the chances of relapse. However, the recovery doesn’t end once rehab stay is complete. Recovery is a lifelong process that has its own sets of ups and downs. Patients learn how to cope with life and its daily demands and rely on support systems of the family and the community instead of returning to using cocaine.

The facility has been established in an apartment and provides men with access to clean rooms. The facility has strict rules in place to ensure the patients can stay sober. In addition to providing the male patients with access to a housing project, the facility also has counselors available to provide therapy. AA meetings, group therapy sessions, study sessions, and many other services are also offered to promote sober living and to reduce the patient’s risk of a relapse in the future or while they are undergoing treatment.

Types Of Treatment Provided

Maverick House Sober Living is not a facility that patients can utilize when they need to undergo detoxification in order to start their recovery journey. Instead, the facility offers a housing system for patients who have already undergone a residential treatment program and is presented as a continued recovery system that ensures the patient can live in a sober environment that prevents them from falling back to a life of drugs and alcohol. The treatment at the center is divided into three different phases: During Phase 1, the patient needs to participate in a 12-step recovery program, and they need to undergo counseling. Group therapy session also needs to be attended. The patient is also required to search for a job during this phase. After the patient has undergone Phase 2, their curfew is increased, and they start to work on goal planning. At Phase 3, the patient is provided with full responsibility but is still required to live a sober life and continue their recovery process. The patient may live in the provided rooms during Phase 3 for up to one year.

Payment Type Accepted

All patients are required to pay a security deposit upon arrival at the Maverick House Sober Living facility. The security deposit needs to be paid before the patient will be provided with access to a room at the facility. In addition to the security deposit, the patient is required to pay a weekly rental fee, which starts at $25 per week on the Phase 1, then weekly payment increases to $75 during Phase 2. When patient reaches Phase 3, weekly rent  will be $125.  Whether the rent can be paid on a monthly basis instead is not provided by the facility. The center does not provide any details in regards to whether they accept insurance providers. There are also no details on whether the facility can provide a patient with financial aid if they are unable to afford the monthly payments required to undergo treatment and take part of the sober living housing program offered.
