Mid-Columbia Center for Living

419 East 7th street – Annex A, The Dalles, OR, 97058
Overview

Mid-Columbia Center for Living (MCCFL) is a recovery-oriented and trauma-informed service provider for men and women with addiction and mental health problems as well as for persons who need developmental or intellectual disability services. They have facilities at different locations such as Wasco County, Sherman County, and Hood River. Facilities in Oregon are funded by the state and local government grants. MCCFL treats adults and youth, and they provide outpatient treatment services.

Types Of Treatment Provided

As mentioned above, MCCFL provides outpatient treatment services only. The first step of the process is an evaluation or assessment where a patient’s severity of addiction is analyzed, their mental health, and other factors. A thorough assessment is necessary for counselors and psychiatrists to develop a treatment program that suits the specific needs of each patient. The treatment center provides intensive outpatient program and regular outpatient program. Generally speaking, the intensive outpatient program is suitable for patients whose addiction is not as severe to require residential treatment, but at the same time, it requires a more structured approach toward recovery. It can also be suitable for persons who have just undergone residential treatment but want more intensive support later one. The intensive outpatient program requires regular three-hour-long meetings three times a week. In addition to group therapy, patients also have individual counseling sessions once a week. Between 10 and 15 patients are in a group and they discuss different topics such as relapse prevention, nutrition, education, family dynamics, meditation, and others. Although MCCFL’s outpatient treatment isn’t strictly based on the 12-step approach, it’s still useful to attend AA/NA meetings, and they can make these arrangements if necessary. The outpatient program is usually a step down after the client has completed the intensive form of the treatment. It lasts eight to 16 weeks, and it’s similar to IOP, just less strict and its primary focus is relapse prevention. It’s important to mention that MCCFL also provides dual diagnosis services meaning they treat patients who have alcohol or drug addiction in addition to some mental health problem. In many cases, addiction is closely tied to problems affecting a person’s emotional and mental health and wellbeing.

Methods of Addiction Treatment

Persons who choose MCCFL as a place where they’ll get a much-needed treatment for alcohol and drug addiction also get to participate in various therapies. Each of these therapies has unique benefits, and their primary objective is to help clients recover in a healthy manner. Therapy options provided at MCCFL include:Individual therapy | Group therapy | Family therapy | Psychoanalysis | Cognitive behavior therapy

Amenities

Treatment for alcohol or drug addiction does not involve therapy only, but also comes with other important segments that are vital for successful recovery. Some of the most important amenities that are provided by this treatment center include, but are not limited to:Peer monitoring | DUII drug education | DUII rehabilitation | Gambling services | Community education | Prevention and intervention services | Referral to higher levels of care if necessary | Medication-assisted treatment | Case management | Health monitoring

Payment Type Accepted

The treatment center has a reduced sliding fee policy that is applied equally to all patients who seek their services. No patient will be denied their service because of inability to pay for it. MCCFL is designated community health agency for people with the Oregon Health Plan, but some private insurances are also accepted such as Aetna, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Cigna, MultiPlan, and First Health (Coventry Health Care). To find out whether the costs of the treatment would be covered by private insurance you’re instructed to contact your insurance provider. The Morton Center

1028 Barret Ave., Louisville, KY, 40204
Overview

The Morton Center, located in Louisville, Kentucky, is an outpatient treatment center that provides adequate care to individuals with substance abuse and mental health issues. The facility offers a 14,500 square-foot building with essential amenities as its headquarters. The facility’s treatment approach places a high emphasis on evidence-based treatment and 12 steps therapies, and also treats individuals as a whole; mind, body, and soul. This program covers mental, spiritual, and emotional angles as well as, giving individuals the tools needed to live a life of long-term sobriety. The facility offers treatment to both adolescents and adults, offering suitable programs specific to their needs. The treatment center believes strongly in family involvement and as such family members and children of loved ones are strongly encouraged to participate in the recovery process. Cognitive behavioral therapy and Dialectical behavioral therapy are some evidence-based treatment modalities used in treating clients as well as 12-steps. Although the facility does not offer residential or inpatient treatment, different levels of care for intensive outpatient and outpatient programs are offered to clients. These services offered can range from an education program, intensive outpatient program, and even weekly therapy groups (as a step down from IOP). Clients seeking or in need of a detox after evaluation, are recommended and referred to an outside facility for such treatment to be done, as it is not offered at the facility. All clients are required to undergo this evaluation, as it helps therapists and counselors understand the issue and discover the best services to treat this disorder. During this evaluation, multiple information is discovered such as strengths, preferences, unique needs, abilities, stress triggers, and many more. Other factors such as work history, education, past relationships, and many more may be taken into consideration as well. After the assessment is completed, clients are given a diagnosis and assigned a place by a qualified counselor. The facility offers an Adult and Adolescent Early Recovery Program as an alternative to inpatient or residential care. This version of an intensive outpatient program is offered four times weekly and sessions last for three hours in the evenings and mornings, Mondays through Thursdays. These sessions include individual therapy, education, and even group counseling. During group counseling, the facilitator focuses on issues such as anger management, trauma, relapse prevention, and life skills. As individuals progress in treatment, sessions, and therapy gradually reduce. There is no set time for completion of treatment as no two individuals are the same.
