Massachusetts Finding treatment for Concerta Addiction

There is no doubt that Concerta has its medical uses, but it can be addictive nevertheless. The major signs of addiction include paranoia, visiting multiple doctors to get prescription, insomnia, and weight loss. Many of the withdrawal symptoms include irritability, sleepiness, increased appetite. Multiple treatment options are available to treat Concerta addiction.

Why do people get addicted to Concerta? People use Concerta for a variety of reasons. Below are mentioned some of the earliest indications of Concerta abuse that may lead to addiction.

Stimulation – As a stimulant, Concerta increases one’s energy, attention and alertness which make up the highs of the drug. Over time, people begin to enjoy these highs and consume more to get the same results.

Weight loss – Loss of appetite and weight loss are some of the side effects of using Concerta which people make use of. They may see it as a benefit and take more of the drug to lose weight.

Performance ¬– Healthy individuals who do not have ADHD might feel that using Concerta helps them study better in school, and as such they begin to abuse the drug to perform better.

People who are addicted to Concerta may try to stop using the drug on their own. But they soon relapse when they start to experience the withdrawal symptoms. The only logical alternative to it is to find professional treatment that can help you detoxify your body and put you on the road to recovery for good.

There are a few options for you to consider regarding treatment if you suffer from Concerta addiction. Although the physical dependence on the drug is a big issue and the withdrawal symptoms are quite uncomfortable, they are not as pronounced as the withdrawal symptoms associated with other types of drug addiction. That means, sometimes intensive care is not needed for some individuals.
